Jon Barron once said:
"Move! Or die!"
Taking his advice literally, I
re-started my jogging routine
in April 2008, and am now
preparing for the Singapore Marathon this 7th December
2008, in where else, sunny
Singapore!
Those inclined to challenge this
42km route (I won't call it a race),
or if you prefer to start with the half-marathon please contact me
if you need more details. Or how
about just the the 10k?

| History of the Marathon |
|
The Persian army landed on the plain of Marathon, a civilized
city near Athens, with blood and terror in 490 B.C. All
Athenians were mobilized to fight for the culture and independence
of the Greek.
In defense of the country, the Athenians sent
a messenger named Philippides to Sparta to get help. Finally,
he completed his task in less than two days to cover about
150 miles.
It is believed that Philippides delivered the news of this
victory from Athens to Sparta by the same route.
This remarkable
nationalist died however, when he reached his destination
after crying "Rejoice! We conquer!". Although,
according to historians, the story of Philippides is just
a legend, it is believed that this is the inspiration of ......
a Marathon Race. |

Training for the Marathon
The secret to successful marathon training and half marathon
training lies within staying supremely motivated, training smart and
safe, and maintaining proper nutrition.
The days of just “gutting it out” are long gone.
Whether you are training for a marathon or half marathon, it takes a
lot more than good old determination and willpower to get you through
training and the big day. Let your mind lead the way, not your body.
Whether you're already running more than thirty kilometres per week or if
you haven't even seen a pair of running shoes in ten years, YOU
can successfully train for and finish a marathon or half marathon.
Believe in yourself. Once you learn the right way to train for a
marathon or half marathon, you will begin to believe, then you will
realise your goal.
